Weekend Updates:

I hope by now that most of the family is aware of this blog and will be checking in occasionally for updates. Please feel free to leave messages and ideas!

Carol, Gwen, Marilyn, and I talked over the holidays about The Samaritan's Purse ministry which is run by the Franklin Graham Ministry. It is a program that collects shoe boxes filled with gifts and needy items for poor children in under-developed countries. If any of you would like to do this we will collect all of the boxes on the family reunion weekend!

The website is: samaritanspurse.org
It will take you to the main page and about halfway down on the right side you will see
"Our Work" Right under "Our Work" is a title: The Power of a Simple Gift at Christmas".
Click on that and it brings up the Christmas Shoe Box information and there is a"Get Started" title that takes you to the instructions. It has the lists of what items are wanted and what you can not send. The cost is about $25.00 per box.

This is something we can work on all year and our family ought to be able to come up with alot of boxes! Anybody got a goal in mind??

So - that is one thing that we (my sisters and me) had in mind for our big weekend. We really are planning a whole weekend affair!! Even our own church service on Sunday morning! Anyone interested in being in the choir - please leave a message or let Carol (the choir director) know. Gary - maybe a trumpet solo???

There are still some campsites available!

Till next time - C.
